Quinta Sol e Mar, meaning "house, sun and sea", was built in 2008 and provides three luxury holiday apartments for 2 - 4 persons. "Figueira" & "Oliveira" can also be combined to accommodate 6. They are suitable for wheelchair users - as are the grounds and the pool. This stylish accommodation is situated on the edge of a beautiful orchard, whose trees bear fruit almost all the year round. Furthermore, the well-tended garden offers a variety of typical indigenous trees, shrubs and cacti. Stroll along the gravel paths through the orchard and pick fresh fruit for your breakfast! The entire premises, the 50m² pool and a large barbecue (with integrated oven), are shared by the guests of Quinta Sol e Mar, comprising of 3 apartments in the main house and the bungalow "Villa Romanzeira".
The Quinta is located halfway between Olhão and Tavira in a quiet, partly agricultural, partly residential area, which is part of the nature reserve "Ria Formosa". The recently inaugurated "Ecovia" bicycle trail, passes by the Quinta. From here you can take scenic tours along the coast. There is a wide variety of bird species in the lagoon and salt flats where you can observe flamingos and other rare birds. This is a real attraction for birdwatchers from around the world. The "Ria Formosa" is located just 400 m from the Quinta. It is particularly interesting at this point because the tidal flatlands can be easily crossed on foot at low tide. Fishing boats lie high when the tide is out and the typical Atlantic oyster beds can be reached in about 20 minutes. There are some wonderful secluded beaches between the lagoon and the open sea which extend for over 50 Kilometres. You can also take the ferry to the island of Armona from nearby Fuseta and enjoy the beach and sea there, too. In Fuseta there is market hall, small supermarkets, a bank, a post office and many cafes and restaurants.
The 3 apartments are equipped and decorated to a high standard. The floors are stylishly tiled and all rooms have "Duo-Therm" wall heaters with individual controls which provide a pleasant indoor temperature. The living rooms have a wood burning stove and satellite TV and a free Wi-Fi Internet connection. All bedrooms have spacious cupboards, ceiling fans and a private bathroom. Extra beds for children can be provided in agreement with the owners. Each of the 3 apartments has been individually decorated and with great attention to detail,..now create your own impression.

The Quinta is located halfway between Olhão and Tavira in a quiet residential area, which already include a nature reserve. The nearest airport is Faro (one pick-up is possible). But you can also fly to Lisbon and Seville and from there take a rental car. Beach, restaurants and small markets can be reached on foot, for larger purchases and trips, however, a car is recommended. Gladly we can from Faro / Lisbon provide a rental car.
