This gracious plantation home, built in the 1870's for Maui's first sugar plantation doctor, retains most of its original architecture and historic grounds. Set among the charm of Maui's historic plantation townes and the magnificent beauty of upcountry, today the old plantation home serves as Maui's original and truly Hawaiian Bed and Breakfast Inn.
Morning breakfasts: we feature local grown produce, fresh bakery delights, home-made jams, brewed Maui coffee and teas, delicious tropical juices, all served along with our normal continental fare. The table is set with grandmother's vintage dishes and guests delight in conversation. It's a great way to begin your day with the wonderful flavors and music of our islands.

Plumeria Suite: Our romantic Plumeria suite with its large master bath is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Dressed in colors of plum and lavenders with beautiful a Hawaiian quilt, our latest addition reflects the casual elegance of island life. Large plantation windows open to our beautiful gardens which blend straight into the rooms tropical decor. The original bedroom for the doctor's children now serves at the master bath for this very special suite. With its 12 ft ceiling, original claw foot tub and lovely garden views the suite whispers of sweet memories.
The Plumeria master suite with its location just off the back entrance is only steps to our lovely garden hot tub, or Hawaiian wellness cottage. Here and within the beautiful gardens, Hoola Hou offers private sessions with traditional practitioners for services such as : lomi lomi massage, Awa ceremonies or even traditional Hawaiian blessings on special occasions.
