Moulay Bousselham is a delightful seaside town, just over an hour away from the airports of Tangier and Rabat and easily accessible by motorway. To the south is the Merdja Zerga (Blue lagoon) separated from the Atlantic by an old ecosystem of dunes. The Merdja is a protected wildlife reserve, one of Northern Morocco’s prime bird-watching locations. Skilled boatmen and guides can be hired by visitors keen to see the flamingos and rarer species.

The centre of town comprises one long street ending at the sea. There are many restaurants and cafes where one can while away the time drinking excellent coffee or mint tea and watching the world saunter past. Behind the street is the market, where you can buy meat, fish and vegetables as well as cloths, fishing equipment and pots and pans. The shops are tiny but full of every basic item one might need. There are two banks, both with ATM machines.

The beaches are fantastic, backed by cliffs and sand dunes, the long sweep of soft golden sand dips down to the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. There is a mile of natural rock pools, providing safe, calm swimming for those who don’t like the waves. The rock pools also provide a great area for fishing and spear fishing. If relaxing in the sun and taking leisurely swims is not your thing, go further down the beach where the Atlantic rollers provided great waves for body boarders and surfers, good for amateurs and those with experience.

SEASHELL sleeps six in one double and one twin bedroom whilst the salon provides two extra beds. The bathroom is modern yet retains a Moroccan touch. The apartment is open plan with a large entrance hall and small salon leading into the kitchen/dining area and the large salon. French windows open onto a large balcony which faces directly onto the sea and has table and chairs and a hammock for those long lazy days.

SEAGULL is a charming roof top apartment accommodating four people. It has a double bedroom, small tadalekt bathroom, kitchen and separate lounge with panoramic views of the sea on three sides. The sofas convert into two single beds. The large terrace has table, chairs and a hammock for relaxing whilst enjoying the stunning coastal scenery.

SANDUNE sleeps eight in two double bedrooms and one twin plus a salon, which provides sleeping accommodation for two. The bathroom is new. The kitchenis bright and modern. Outside is a terrace with tables and chairs for outside dining, or simply watching the world go by.

All the apartments have the use of the garden, BBQ, outdoor shower and games room.

From Tangier or Rabat by car Motorway exit marked Moulay Bousselham, after exiting the motorway turn right the village is 8km. Pass the Bank Popular on left take the next right follow the road for 2km to the T junction, Driftwood is in front of you. By Train to Souk el Arbra then shared taxi to Moulay Bousselham
