Experience a Berkshire get-away in this huge secluded luxury modern house. It's the only house that is surrounded by 10,000 Acres of protected Hawley State forest. Escape from headaches and the rat race. No cell phone reception here! But we have WiFi, a large flat screen TV with Netflix and free USA and Canada phone calling. We like to define our country home as a place to dream and relax. We care about your comfort and we think we are not only a place to sleep, but a real home for your lovely holidays.

The house is 2700 square feet, with 3 private bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (full bath [shower and tub] & a hot steam shower), a large living room with fireplace, and TV & DVD player. It has a one-car garage, central air-conditioning and wireless internet. The house also has a clothes washer and dryer, a smoker and BBQ grill, a screened in gazebo, a porch, Hallockville Pond just behind the house and 10,000 acres of marked trails to hike and explore.

-2 king size beds, a queen sleep number mattress, 1 double bed, a queen futon in the living room, an inflatable queen mattress, a crib and two couches.

-Fully stocked kitchen, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, electric stove and oven and eat-in kitchen
-Smoker BBQ and charcoal grill (for use on the patio please)

In the summer, we offer our guests organic fruits and vegetables from the front lawn, fishing rods for pond behind the house, and inner tubes to float down the Deerfield River. Located half a mile away is the Plainfield Pond, with a kid-friendly sandy beach.

In the winter, the house includes cross country skis, snow shoes and wood for the fireplace. It also has an indoor parking so you won't need to brush and scrape! The house is 10 minutes to Berkshire East Ski Area and Notch View Reservation for cross country skiing. Southern Vermont ski areas such as Mt Snow and Sunapee are an hour's drive.

The house is ideally located close to Smith College and all of the shops, restaurants and cultural activities of Main Street, Northampton. Also in the area is Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass MoCA in North Adams, Clark Art Institute & Williams College in Williamstown and Jacobs Pillow in Becket.

Rental is for entire property, two-night minimum. All prices are shown in USD.

During major school vacation weeks, holidays and other high demand times (please ask for an offer). However we often prefer a minimum 1 weeks stay.

Available for short to medium term sublease. Please ask us about prices for stays of more than one month. Perhaps you'll bump into Rachel Maddow who has a house in town!

Directions:

-Take I-91N to Route 9W (Exit 19, Northampton) -At the end of the exit ramp at the lights, go STRAIGHT through the light, following the signs for the Route 9W Truck Route {{{ You will be given option to GO Route 9 East to Hadley and Amherst or Left to Route 9 West to Northampton. Continue Straight along Route 9 TRUCK ROUTE. Pass under the Rail Tracks. At the next intersection there is a Pride gas station on your close left corner, and a D'Angelo sandwich on the far left corner. Continue straight thru those lights, past the John F Kennedy Middle School and senior community}}}. -After about 3 miles, in the rotary, take your first exit to the right to continue following Route 9 Westbound. -Follow Route 9W about 17 miles until the town of Cummington. {{{ You will be passing National Grid on your left, the Brass Works Lofts on your left, McFadden's Pub on your right, Williamsburg snack bar (clam chowder) on your right. When you get to the famous Brew Masters Tavern on your left, follow the signs to continue along Route 9 West to Goshen and Cummington. Pass the sign entering town of Cummington 1779}}} -Turn RIGHT onto Main St (there will be a sign for Plainfield) at the Berkshire Trail Elementary School on the right. This will take you through Cummington Center. -After about 0.5 miles, turn RIGHT onto Plainfield Rd (over the bridge). [If you hit Route 9 again, you have gone too far]. -Follow Plainfield Rd (it turns into Central St) for about 4 miles. {{{ Pass the Farm Stand on your left }}}. -Turn LEFT onto E Main St/Route 116 in Plainfield Center (you will see an antiques store on your right and the Shaw Hudson House in located on the upper right corner.). -Follow Rte 116 North towards Savoy down the hill for about 2.5 miles. {{{ Pass Hallock Memorial Library on your right, Town hall and the church}}} -Turn RIGHT onto Hallockville Rd/Route 8A North towards Hawley and Charlemont. -53 Hallockville Rd is the first house on the LEFT (about 0.5 miles).
