Grade II listed slate and stone farmhouse set in 90 acres of the beautiful Snowdonia National park in mountainous North Wales, UK. There is a walled and gated front garden with large slate slabs and an al fresco eating area. Nearby is the wooden children play equipment. To the side is a gate to the orchard with fruit trees, washing line and plenty of space for sitting out or basking in the double hammock. Here you will also find the Orchard House with the 2/3 seater hot tub spa reserved for your exclusive use during your stay. To the rear of the property is a second al fresco area and Bar-B-Q. You also have access to the rest of the walled/fenced 1 acre garden area. Basketball hoop, small steam ...and of course there is always the other 89-odd acres to explore! Well-controlled dogs are welcome at no extra charge but please note that sheep and free range hens graze all around the property.
In the lounge the pale lemon limewash walls glow in the morning sun. There is a huge inglenook with a wood burning stove plus full underfloor heating, making year round rentals very comfortable. All logs and fuel included in the price. The floor is traditional random slate slabs with a beautiful hand hooked wool rug. Two comfortable matching sofas, a dark wood dresser filed with games, TV, video, DVD, CD player and lots of books! Coffee table. You can set any mood you like with the many wall, alcove and picture lights.
The large modern kitchen is a joy in which to cook and eat. Whitewashed walls are teamed with duck egg blue units with stainless steel fittings. A circular, white, extendable table and chairs overlooks the garden and mountainside. Large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave - a very well equipped kitchen. You will find a welcome pack plus loads of little essential extras included (our own free-range eggs, oil, coffee, tea, sugar, sauces, condiments, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing powder, herbs and spaces, candles, torches, WC paper etc etc.) A small pot-bellied wood burner is housed in the old fireplace. Kitchen linens supplied.
The 3 bedrooms sleep 6 (dbl, twin and bunks). There are two bathrooms, one with powershower, bidet and WC and one with small sit-in bath with Victorian style mixer tap, small basin and WC. Both have heated towel rails. All towels and WC paper supplied. All bed linen supplied. We also supply 2 bathrobes, extra towels and flip flops for the hot tub spa. The master bedroom has a glorious white metal Victorian style bed with white furniture and a large bookshelf. A fresh blue, yellow and white colour scheme prevails. The twin room has two single white metal Victorian style beds with a pale green/lemon and white theme. There is also a separate seating area in the twin room and a large wardrobe. The 'Narnia' wardrobe on the landing is shared by the main bedroom and bunk bedroom - children love this feature! The stairs and first floor are fully carpeted and there are radiators on the first floor. The bunk bedroom is on the ground floor and has a cheery red and white theme plus a desk/activity area and a contemporary rug. There are privacy curtains on both bunks and each has it's own reading/wall light. A great favourite!
Well-behaved and well controlled dogs are always welcome and may sleep in the kitchen/diner - please bring bedding. No dogs in bedrooms please and don't forget to clean up after them and bring old towels for muddy paws!

Directions:

We send full Travel Directions to all guests. A car is helpful when booking this property but we have had guests arrive by steam train (Beddgelert) and a couple who arrived on bicycles. We are only 20 minutes away from the nearest small town ,Porthmadog, with shops, supermarkets, leisure centre and train station etc. If you do arrive by train you will need to order provisions and arrange to have them delivered in advance. Please enquire.
