While staying at the cottage enjoy our natural overgrown native, organic butterfly heritage legacy garden. This is the type of garden you would have found in 1871. All our plants are perennials which means that different flowers bloom at different times so you have a variety of flowers. For this reason, the garden looks different from Spring to Fall. We trim our plants every fall and the growth you see is from this years summer growth. If you drive along the Niagara Parkway you will be witnessing a natural native heritage legacy forest, very similar to ours. Our mature period garden is full of mature flowers, plants and trees, a lot of indigenous plants. All the plants are planted by hand and some trees are 70 years old. We ask our guests to enjoy our Butterfly, Song bird and Wild Animal natural garden sanctuary. Our garden is a natural, perennial, over- grown mix of trees and flowers. We’re part of the Greening Niagara Incentive, which is the reforestation and naturalization of our area, and we have a one of a kind garden that makes you feel like you’re up in Northern Ontario.
